Hot sea buckthorn drink | Alcohol-free

When I lived in Latvia, I got a taste for their hot, non-alcoholic drinks with a herbal base. There was always an exciting alternative to the food. In general, Latvians prefer to drink more temperate drinks with their food. And if you look at, for example, Traditional Chinese Medicine, hot drinks are preferable to get the digestion going. It is preferable for sluggishness and constipation. For my part, I also like to drink hot so that I can warm up my body. All of these reasons mean that at home we like to drink a hot drink or tea with our food.
Hot drinks in Latvia often mix berries, herbs and honey. They are often served in heat-resistant glasses, which makes it look so beautiful. This recipe is based on sea buckthorn, orange and honey. We have previously written about hot drinks with ginger, if you want more tips.
.
Ingredients:
100 g sea buckthorn (frozen or fresh)
1 orange (preferably organic)
4 spoons of honey
1 liter of water
.
How?
Pour the sea buckthorn (save a bunch for decoration) into a blender. Wash and slice the orange. Add it to the blender along with the honey. Boil the water and pour some into the blender. Blend everything. Pour into a heat-resistant carafe and pour in the rest of the hot water. Taste and add more honey or water if necessary. Decorate with whole sea buckthorn. Sea buckthorn is quite sour by itself, so more sweetness may be needed. It's definitely a vitamin C boost!
