Örtfabriken's sustainability work
"Food that is good for us is also good for the planet"*
- that sentence pretty much summarizes how we at Örtfabriken view sustainability. For us, herbs are a sustainable way to support ourselves while also caring for our planet.
We believe in organic and small-scale farming. We value our collaboration with our producers above all else. Together, we ensure that the herbs are grown, harvested, and handled in the best possible way.

Starting this year, we are collaborating with a small herb grower from Uppsala. Together, we offer the Motherwort tincture. An herb grown with love is a powerful herb!
Our other collaborating partner comes from Latvia. They have extensive herbal knowledge and, just like us at Örtfabriken, are real enthusiasts. They balance this passion with modern technology (e.g., their own laboratories and specialized expertise) and good control and management (organic certification and HACCP plan). Here you can see Örtfabriken and our collaborating partner with fun hats:

Örtfabriken offers herbs in the form of tincture. These are herbs in liquid, concentrated form for internal use. The herbs have been extracted using alcohol. This results in a product that is concentrated (you only need a few drops) and has a very long shelf life.
This means that the beautiful marigold that was picked this summer and which we made into a tincture, can be used for 3-5 years to come. This is an important sustainability factor. We make the best use of nature's gifts.

At Örtfabriken, we work consciously with packaging. We have chosen a bottle for our tinctures that preserves the herb longer than other bottles. The quality and color of the glass mean that it can protect the delicate contents better than lighter glass. You can read more about our bottle here. Reuse this beautiful bottle!
To send your package to you, we collaborate with a logistics company. In 2024, they are investing heavily in introducing electric vehicles. The vision is zero emissions. A step that we as a small family business would find difficult to achieve, but which becomes a reality through the right collaboration!
We use recycled paper for printed materials and paper materials in our packages. We hope you appreciate it!
