We always try to find ways to make herbs and mushrooms a part of everyday life. That is, to get them into the daily diet. But then it is important to find ways and good recipes. These raw balls are spiked with adaptogenic herbs in powder. A little bitter but the sweetness in the honey and the other ingredients outweighs this.
We think they are heavenly delicious. But in all honesty, we also have to add that it seems that taste buds have changed after all these years without gluten, sugar and lactose. They are not to everyone's taste (read some children and some men).
We have used Örtfabriken's new powder Adaptogens , but you can make the recipe without herbs or take the herbs you have. We wanted to make a recipe with adaptogenics (Ashwagandha, Siberian Ginseng and Gotu Kola) to add energy to your everyday life. The recipe is gluten-free and vegan (if you replace the honey).
Recipe
Ingredients (15 pcs)
1 dl tahini (preferably Kung Markattas tahini. Do not use the oil, otherwise the batter may be too loose)
0.5 dl hazelnut butter (or almond butter)
0.5 dl honey or maple syrup
1.5 dl coconut flakes, toasted
0.5 dl almonds
1 tbsp cinnamon
1 teaspoon cardamom
5 tsp. Herb Factory Adaptogens (Siberian Ginseng, Ashwagandha, Gotu Kola, Wormwood Root, Ginger)
Maybe cocoa
To roll in: Örtfabrikens Rose powder , toasted coconut, toasted sesame seeds, dipped in chocolate.
- Mix tahini, hazelnut butter and honey.
- Mix or mortar the coconut flakes and almonds, but leave some chewiness.
- Mix in the adaptogenic herbs, cinnamon and cardamom. You will probably need to knead the dough with your hands. If the batter is too loose, you can add cocoa. You should be able to form balls out of it that hold together.
- Form into 15 balls. Store in the refrigerator.
- You can eat them as they are or roll them in Örtfabrikens Rose Powder, etc.
The recipe is inspired by herbalist Rosemary Gladstar and transformed to suit our taste buds and needs. Now you have baked a really good, herbal and supportive snack!
