Hormonal imbalance and PMS - why do we know so little about our menstrual cycle?

Our own tools for understanding our menstrual cycle are limited. We need more information and knowledge at an early age. Information about what a menstrual cycle is and what can affect it. What estrogen and progesterone are. What a follicular phase and luteal phase are. Why imbalances in the hormone cycle occur (e.g. pain, mood swings, heavy bleeding, lack of menstruation, etc.) and what we can do about it. We need to know what options we have in case of hormonal imbalance to choose from so that we can make conscious choices. Contraceptives, synthetic vs. natural support, diet and nutrition, dietary supplements, sleep, alternative forms of treatment. We need to be able to ask ourselves the question "what do I want and what suits my body?"

In herbalism, there is a long tradition of supporting women's health with the help of herbs. There are many herbs to use for PMS symptoms and in different parts of the world different types of herbs are used. The herbal factory offers the tincture Happy Hormones with a mixture of herbs that are traditionally used in connection with the hormonal cycle. It is an herbal-based dietary supplement for women to achieve hormonal balance, e.g. for PMS. These are Ashwagandha and Yam Root. Less well-known perhaps are Raspberry Leaf, Daggkäpa and Red Clover. It is a mixture of Eastern wisdom and herbs that are well known to us locally.

You take the Happy Hormones tincture from the first days of your menstrual cycle (avoid the days when your period is heaviest) and then take the drops daily for the entire period until your period. Start with a lower dose, about 10 drops internally three times a day. If you do not experience any effect, increase the dosage.

Working with herbs is about supporting your body gently. It requires patience and a long-term perspective. And you will need to support from several angles. Diet, rest, relaxation need to be reviewed while you add herbs and supplements to your everyday life. But when you get the ball rolling, something will happen. You will have an effect! It can be comforting to think about when your menstrual cycle is difficult to manage.
