Sage as a natural mouthwash

In our garden grows a sage that doesn't break under the weight of a pick. Super strong in flavor. We use the herb, fresh or dried, to make a natural mouthwash, among other things.

Pick the sage on a dry and sunny morning. The best time for the herbalist is 8-9 am. It should not be too wet and not too hot. Break the leaves into smaller pieces. Put in a jug and fill with boiling water. Cover with a lid and let steep for at least 15 minutes.

Strain and pour into a small glass bottle.

It is a natural product with no preservatives. So keep it in the fridge and it will last for maybe a week. Gargle your mouth several times a day. Sage is a popular herb to use in the mouth.

We love it!
