Herbal Events Summer 2025 | Workshops, Herb Walks, Herbal Courses, and Retreat

Take an herb course this summer! There's nothing as rewarding as spending time in nature.

We've heard that Biskops Arnö's and Hola folkhögskola's summer courses are already fully booked. Biskops Arnö's summer courses are classic and worth trying! They take place on a magical island with a dreamy herb garden. Other folk high school courses this summer can be found at Åredalen Folk High School, Nature's Pantry, where you can harvest wild herbs. Skurup Folk High School offers the summer course Nature's Green Pharmacy. Simply take a summer course at a folk high school!

In the photo above, you see Jennifer Askaner. My favorite teacher! She always hosts wonderful herb walks and events in Värmland. Keep an eye on her Instagram! Her summer course at Birka Folk High School is fully booked, but put your name on the waiting list!

Sara Bonadea George and Bjornlundaarvet will host a Litha summer solstice celebration.

It will feature folklore about herbs, and the making of beeswax candles and herbal tinctures. At a croft in the Mölnbo area, an hour south of Stockholm.

And I'd like to recommend a little detour east to Latvia. My friend Ilga Gavare will host a fantastic sauna ceremony and herb festival in Latvia from July 25-27, 2025. English-speaking. Nellie Orzolek's Rootedmedicinals offers both Herb Walks and a course in Herb Distillation on several occasions. Here we get to make our own hydrosols and essential oils. I've heard many good things about Nellie's knowledge and teaching style. She is located in the Järna area.

Alkemiskaakademin offers several different training courses in the noble art of alchemy. Their summer course is fully booked (but maybe next year?). They have a distance learning course that is not time-bound.

Also in Stockholm, you'll find Hella Nathorst Böös and her exciting city walks and the event Awaken your Inner Witch in September 2025. Hella weaves together vital knowledge about the witch trials, being a witch today, and herbal knowledge.

The well-known herbalist and author Lisen Sundgren has invited herbalist Laura Ash to Rosendal's Garden in Stockholm. They will guide you in the art of blending herbs. It's already June 10th, so make up your mind quickly.

Later in August, Lisen will host a retreat in Järna on the theme "Midlife." You can find information about Lisen's offerings here.

We move north to the dreamy Nämforshojden Herb Garden in Näsåker in Ångermanland. Here, Ida and Maria will invite you to an Herb Camp in July 2025. Wow!

Even further north, we have Eva Gunnare, who is a fantastic storyteller, in addition to being a food creator and herbalist. Eva offers several digital courses, but contact her if you want to explore wild and herbal things in Norrbotten.

You can also go on herb walks on the west coast. Experienced herbalist Karoline's Way of Life leads herb walks in Mölnlycke in June.

In Uppsala, Agnes Brosset from Nordiska Örter runs a large garden where she cultivates various herbs. This is unique and something we need more of in Sweden!
