Have you heard of adaptogens? | Adaptogenics

We at Örtfabriken have been gearing up for the months that we find a little extra challenging. January and February. The Ox Weeks. Our bodies and minds have been without sun for a while now. Our cells are craving energy. Power. This time of year, we therefore like to lean a little extra on the adaptogenic herbs and medicinal mushrooms.

Have you heard of adaptogenics ?

The term was coined in Russia in 1940 and includes herbs and mushrooms with an adaptogenic effect. These are herbs that give us strength to resist external factors. These herbs do not belong to the same family and do not have the same active ingredients. It is only the effect that is similar.

Our most famous adaptogenics are Panax Ginseng, Siberian ginseng and Ashwagandha. In our latitudes we have Rhodiola Rosea. Among the medicinal mushrooms we have Chaga, Reishi and Lion's mane.

In January we planned to focus on adaptogenic herbs and medicinal mushrooms, so stay tuned for future posts. If February turns out to be tough, we'll write about them then too :-). Hope you enjoy the posts!
