Herbal Events Spring and Summer 2026 | Workshops, Herbal Walks, Herbal Courses, and Retreats

Take an herb course this summer! There's nothing as rewarding as spending time with nature.

This summer, Örtfabriken and Nellie Orzolek will be hosting a distillation event at Ågelsjön outside Norrköping. Date: August 9, 2026. Come and join us as we connect with nature together. Sign up here

Already this spring, a botanical mini-festival will be held at Vinterviken in Stockholm. Date: May 16, 2026. Several exciting speakers and exhibitors will be participating, including Nellie Orzolek and Sara Bonadea George, to name a couple. A really fun and completely new initiative!

Örtkollo is organized by Ida in Näsåker in Ångermanland. Date: July 8 - 12, 2026. There's an incredible lineup of guest lecturers at the herb camp this summer. I don't think I'll have the chance to go myself, but I'll be there in spirit. Ida has worked for many years to establish her herb garden, and against many odds, she now has a fantastic place to offer you.

Biskops Arnö is offering only one course this summer, The Healing Garden and Nature's Medicine. Date: July 20 - 24. The short Folk High School courses are always popular and often very affordable, so book your spot quickly if you want to attend before it's fully booked. I see that Skurup Folk High School offers the course Nature's Green Pharmacy. At folkhogskola.nu, you can find all summer courses at our Swedish folk high schools this summer. If you haven't taken a folk high school course yet, this is for you.

Sara Bonadea George has a lot going on this spring. She's launching her new book The Poison Garden: Folklore of Belladonna, Datura, and Other Herbs and will be holding several talks. For example, about Folklore of Poisonous Herbs and Flying Ointments at Labyrint in Stockholm. Date: May 4.

Nellie Orzolek offers both herb walks and distillations on several occasions this summer. You'll make your own hydrosols and gain knowledge about the plants in our surroundings. I love Nellie's relationship with plants. She weaves together knowledge of herbs with a deeply spiritual approach. The first herb walk this spring is already on April 19 in Järna.

The well-known herbalist and author Lisen Sundgren has, together with Karolines Way of Life, invited the world-renowned herbalist Rosalee de la Foret to Stockholm. Date: May 2. There are still a few single spots left waiting for you.

Lisen offers several plant walks in the Stockholm area. You might know her wonderful books? On her plant walks, she shows you plants that will make you experience wild food.

A little further north in Jokkmokk, we have Eva Gunnare who is a fantastic storyteller, in addition to being a food creator and knowledgeable about herbs. Eva offers several digital courses, but contact her if you want to explore wild and herbal foods in Norrbotten. She will give you a taste sensation.

You can also go on herb walks on the west coast. Experienced herbalist Karolines way of Life leads herb walks starting in May. Karoline offers several good courses continuously throughout the year, but if you're on the west coast and want to learn more about how to pick herbs, these walks are for you.

In Uppsala, Agnes Brosset from Nordiska Örter runs a large garden where she cultivates several different herbs. This is unique and something we need more of in Sweden! Agnes can convey unique knowledge about how to create your own herb garden. Agnes is a doctor of plant ecology from SLU. Take a tour with her on her herb walks. And did you know that one of Örtfabriken's tinctures, Hjärtstillan, is lovingly grown by Agnes in Uppsala.
