What is your morning routine like?

Calm and sleepy or alert and brisk? ⁠
To be honest, it felt quite rushed to write that last part :-). Lively and brisk feels quite foreign to us.

The best way to start the morning, for us, is to have the time to sit for a while with ourselves. A cup of tea for company and a few drops of herbs. At certain times we do a shorter meditation, to check in with ourselves a little deeper. ⁠

Sometimes it feels like there is a lot to get done during the day. We wonder how we are going to get it all done. Sometimes the first thought in the morning is a thought of excitement. Other times there is a tenacity that won't let go. We have a hard time waking up. We linger in the dream state.

When we take a conscious moment, whether it's by sipping tea or meditating, we calm down and are here and now. It helps both when there's too much in our heads and when we need clarity and focus. With a short meditation, it becomes easier to feel how the body feels. What emotions are swirling. And it becomes easier to see what's important. That way, we can prioritize better. ⁠
