The dew cap (Alchemilla vulgaris) is growing in our garden right now. The large, abundant leaves with a perfect silvery water drop. The alchemists considered it the purest of water and had the ability to transform metal into gold. Today we know that it is water absorbed by the roots, but there is probably some alchemical magic in it.
In herbalism, the dewberry is best known as a women's herb. It is a given ingredient in Örtfabriken's Happy Hormones. It is an astringent and therefore works well for the skin. Today, we will carefully use the dewberry to make an astringent facial toner.
Pick leaves and flowers when it is not raining. It should be dry, but not too hot. The herbalist's best time is in the morning. We make an infusion of the dew cap. That is, we boil water and pour it over the plant. Let it steep for at least 15 minutes. Take about 3 dl of water to 3 teaspoons of dew cap.
Strain the water and pour it into a spray bottle. We add a few drops of lavender essential oil.
The shelf life is very short as the product is preservative-free, so store it in the fridge for a couple of extra days of shelf life. But even if the shelf life is short, you will look naturally beautiful and know exactly what you are adding to your skin.
