Nettle Smoothie | Recipe

This is the best smoothie in the world!

We have our own little nettle patch, our own little nettle farm, and if we harvest carefully we have stinging nettles all summer long. To make this smoothie, you pick small, tender nettles. Pinch off the tops, and they will continue to grow. Rinse them thoroughly and cut them into smaller pieces, then they will be easier to blend. They will stop stinging (we hope) as you process the nettles.

This recipe makes enough for about 2 small glasses of smoothie.

These are the ingredients:

A handful of (raw) nettles

A handful of lingonberries

A peeled orange

Here's how:

Place the three ingredients in a bowl. Add half a glass of water and mix thoroughly. Pour into two smaller glasses with some crushed ice.

The taste is wonderful. Hope you like it too. It has a scent of guava... something tropical that totally surprised us the first time we made this smoothie. Stinging nettles are an important addition this time of year, when our bodies are hungry for nourishment and replenishment. Of course, you can make this smoothie with nettle powder when you don't have access to fresh stinging nettles.

We got the recipe from our friend Hanna 🌿
and we make the smoothie every other day right now.
