Herbal Hydrolats Floral Waters
During our three years in Latvia, my love for herbs developed organically. I was completely unprepared for how naturally herbs are integrated into Latvians' daily lives. Their knowledge of the power of plants is profound and a natural part of their culture.

During this time in Latvia, I started using Floral Waters. Floral Waters, flower waters, or hydrosols, as they are also called. A hydrosol is a 100% pure natural product, made from herbs. I became obsessed with them. Especially the one made from heather. I started using hydrosols every day. I had a bottle by my computer at work, and it became a ritual to spray flower water on my face every now and then.
Hydrosols are wonderful for moisturizing the skin, but above all, for me, they had a deeply reassuring effect. They provided strength and a sense of boundary. I can't quite put my finger on it. But it was something I needed during those stressful years.
