Do you feel like things are going too fast right now and that you need to find ways to unwind? Here we write about how you can use herbs and mushrooms in demanding moments.
There is a great wealth in nature when it comes to herbs for the nervous system. Herbs for the nervous system vary in character. Some are calming, others mildly stimulating, others soporific. Read our other blog post here with an overview of our most common herbs .
When the wheels are turning too fast, as they do for many people during the Christmas season, herbs can help us unwind and relax. The main ones we recommend are (if you click on the links, you will be taken to longer blog posts):
⭐ Wormwood
⭐ Peace of mind
⭐ Reishi
⭐ Hops
How should you dose these herbs?
What about the dosage of these herbs? Always assume that you should use the smallest possible dose. That is, the dose where you feel the effect. The nervous system is sensitive and some experience a strong effect. You should be especially careful with Hjärtstilla. Maybe 3-5 drops of a tincture are enough for you? If you take them in the form of tea, assume half to one teaspoon of herb per cup. When we talk about Hjärtstilla, a leaf the size of a five-krona coin can be enough. I would also take Hops in a low dose, but as you can understand from the blog post about dosage, it is about each person's sensitivity. Read more here about dosage of herbs .
Which herbs should you choose?
The effects of herbs in this area are subtly different from each other. One relaxing herb is different from another relaxing herb. How? Try it out, slowly and respectfully. Taste it, maybe you can pick it, read about it. Experience it! Preferably in different situations and at different times of the day. If you take the time to listen, you will have a real aha experience.
What time of day should you take your herb?
It depends on what effect you want to achieve and which herb you use. Lemon balm is very suitable in the morning and during the day. Wormwood and Heartwort should work well during the day for most people. But I personally prefer to take Wormwood in the evening, but that is due to high sensitivity. Reishi is particularly good for winding down in the evening. Many people find that it gives an effect quickly. I would only take Hops in the evening, but test it out. The first time you try it, it might be a good idea to choose the right time. Don't take an herb like Hops before you are going to hold a meeting, but first try it at the same time another day. Try it!
